As a ‘morning’ person, you will be confident, engaging, and connected to the pulse of Maniapoto! Weaving te reo Māori and te reo pākēhā seamlessly to highlight local kaupapa that connects us with our iwi, hapū, marae, and hapori.
As an ambassador of te reo Māori and tikanga Māori, you will deliver a dynamic and high-quality show that highlights the voice of our people and the kaupapa that matters most to our people.
Although this role is only fixed-term for 6 months, there may be an opportunity to extend the role for the right person. The standard work hours for the role are 25 hours per week.
Ngā Pūkenga | Skill/Role Requirements
- Relevant Qualification and/or Experience in Broadcasting is desirable but not essential.
- Current Full Driver’s Licence.
- Competency in Te Reo Māori & Tikanga Māori – Ability to incorporate te mita o Maniapoto and kōrero tuku iho is desirable but not essential.
- Compliance and Regulation knowledge – Understanding of contractual agreements and regulations as they apply to on-air, broadcasting, content creation and digital media.
- Audio Production – An understanding or experience with audio production is desirable but not essential.
- Integrity & Professionalism – Strong work ethic, time management, reliability, and accountability
- Relationship Building – Establishes and maintains positive stakeholder relationships and represents Te Nehenehenui values confidently
- Technical Proficiency – Computer literacy and ability to manage digital tools
- Resilience & Adaptability – Handles pressure, competing priorities, and change with flexibility
- People-Centric Approach – Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to engage, inspire, and build relationships across whānau, hapū, marae, iwi, and hapori.
