
Tūranga Mahi | Position Overview
Our Finance Team is looking for a dedicated and detail-orientated Financial Accountant who will play a pivotal role in supporting the Finance Manager to deliver financial services across our Group including both Charitable and Commercial entities.
The successful applicant will be required to provide high quality, accurate and timely financial accounting services to ensure that TNN’s commitments and statutory obligations are met across the Group.
Te Pūtake | About Us
Te Nehenehenui (TNN) is the Post Settlement Governance Entity for Maniapoto. TNN is responsible for the management of assets to meet the needs and aspirations of our people and to provide for future generations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the preparation of month-end close, accruals, reconciliations and reporting
- Assist in preparation of budgets and financial forecasts to support business planning
- Assist in preparation of Annual Financial Statements
- Assist with preparation of statutory tax returns (GST, FBT, Income Tax) and ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards, regulations and tax laws.
- Collaborate with team members to streamline and enhance the efficiency of financial reporting and internal processes
Ngā Pūkenga | Skill/Role Requirements
- A finance/accounting qualification
- CA or CPA qualified, or working towards this
- 2+ years’ experience working in either a CA firm or commercial accounting role
- Good understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to handle multiple deadlines in a fast-paced organisation is crucial
This is a permanent, full-time role and is based either in our Te Kūiti or Hamilton Office.
