Tūranga Mahi | Position Overview
Te Nehenehenui is seeking an experienced and commercially astute Finance Manager – Compliance & Operations to join our team.
This is an opportunity to apply your financial expertise in an organisation that balances commercial performance with intergenerational impact for whānau, hapū and iwi.
This is a permanent, full-time role and is based either in our Te Kūiti and/or Hamilton Office.
As Finance Manager – Compliance & Operations, you will play a critical role in ensuring the financial integrity, operational effectiveness and compliance performance of the organisation.
Working closely with the Group Chief Financial Officer and senior leaders, you will provide strategic financial leadership, oversee reporting and audit functions, strengthen internal controls, and support sound business decision-making across the Group.
Key responsibilities:
· Leading financial management, reporting, budgeting and forecasting activities.
· Delivering timely and accurate monthly and annual financial reporting.
· Managing external audits and supporting internal audit programmes.
· Preparing consolidated and entity financial statements.
· Overseeing cashflow, taxation and financial compliance obligations.
· Strengthening financial controls, governance frameworks and risk management practices.
· Supporting Audit & Risk Committee work programmes.
· Leading and developing a high-performing finance team.
· Contributing to strategic planning, organisational growth and continuous improvement initiatives.
Ngā Pūkenga | Skill/Role Requirements
· CAANZ/CA qualified (or equivalent professional qualification).
· Significant senior finance leadership experience.
· Proven experience supporting Executive or CFO-level decision making.
· Strong financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and financial control expertise.
· Experience managing audits, compliance requirements and risk frameworks.
· Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
· Advanced Microsoft Excel and financial systems experience.
· A current full New Zealand driver’s licence.
· Experience working within iwi, Māori, charitable, trust or complex multi-entity organisations.
· Understanding of Māori governance environments.
· Knowledge of Te Reo Māori and tikanga Māori.
· Experience leading organisational improvement and transformation initiatives.
This is a permanent, full-time role and is based either in our Te Kūiti or Hamilton Office.
