Te Nehenehenui Trust Chairman Peter Douglas announced Lee Gray (Ngāti Maniapoto, Ngāti Te Puta-i-te-Muri, Ngāti Tauhunu) is to be appointed to the position of Independent Director for Ahuahu Group Limited.

Ahuahu Group Limited (AGL) is the commercial investment arm of Te Nehenehenui and the primary vehicle for Maniapoto’s intergenerational commercial aspirations. Wholly owned by Te Nehenehenui, AGL also holds Maniapoto fisheries assets under the Māori Fisheries Act 2004.

Lee brings an impressive portfolio having worked within governance and commercial leadership as a Chartered Accountant and partner with Deloitte.  Lee has partnered with several PSGE’s supporting strategy development, mergers and acquisitions and other commercial opportunities.

Chair of AGL, Bella Takiari-Brame, shared that “Lee’s invaluable skills and insights, from an iwi-owned investment entity, will be fundamental to supporting AGL in managing and driving economic prosperity for the group across its diversified portfolio of assets”.
