We have an exciting opportunity for whānau to learn about Geospatial Information Systems (GIS) through one of our 1-day GIS Basics Workshops to be held throughout the year.

The introduction to GIS Basics Workshop will be presented by Shannon Te Huia from Waka Huia Limited. Each workshop will introduce you to the basics of the GIS technology, how to navigate the language and online mapping and layering programs, and how to produce your own.

We have four (4) workshops to complete within the year which will be held in one of the following locations (Te Kūiti, Te Awamutu, Tokoroa, Hopuhopu).

You can register for the first of our 4 workshops or register your interest for the next three (3) workshops (date/location yet to be confirmed).

The aim of this 1-day workshop is to give you the skills and knowledge to utilise the GIS technology to help you, your business, your whānau, marae, hapū, and iwi in any taiao or whakapapa endeavours.

This technology can help our whānau to tell your stories, build restoration projects, manage data and information, and enhance your skills and knowledge of GIS for future career opportunities.
