Te Nehenehenui is the post-settlement governance entity established to manage the settlement assets of Maniapoto. It is currently governed by Establishment trustees. In accordance with the requirements of the Trust Deed, the Establishment trustees must retire later this year to allow new trustees to be elected or appointed.

From the conclusion of the 2023 Hui ā-Tau (AGM), Te Nehenehenui will have a new governance structure, consisting of 6 Ngā Kura Rere trustees, 7 Ngā Kura Tau trustees and 1 Te Kura Kaumātua trustee. Te Nehenehenui now invites nominations from Adult Registered Members to fill the 6 Ngā Kura Rere trustee positions. The term of office for these positions is 3 years. The retiring establishment trustees may stand for election to these positions if they are nominated.

Nominations for these positions open on Wednesday 31 May and close at midday on Thursday 29 June 2023. Election DetailsIf more than 6 valid nominations are received, a voting process will be carried out by postal and online voting. All Te Nehenehenui Adult Registered Members are eligible to participate in the election process. Voting opens on 27 July 2023 and will close at midday on Monday 4 September 2023.
